Painting the Cuillins

Its been a while since I posted as things have been quietly forming in the background, my new studio space is being built in my garden as we speak and so larger works have been on hold really since the start of the year. I have some small works available which I will show you here which are reflecting the dark beauty of the Cuillins with their deep valleys and dramatic mountains.
Predominantly I have been working on paper and have plenty of experiments going forward using acrylics with a catalyst wedge and mixing with pastel and watercolour. I love the simplicity and spontaneous directness that using a wedge gives you, it takes away a lot of the control and there are plenty of happy and unhappy accidents!
In other news I have sold a couple of paintings which were some of my favourites, do you find it difficult to let go of paintings you are fond of ? They need to go so that I can make more but it's still a bit of a wrench. Below are the small works I mentioned earlier but you can see them fully on my website www.elainefoxartist.co.uk where there are images in different interiors and angles etc.
I hope that your year so far has gone well and that your Summer proves to the best one yet!
