Studio News
Well where to begin! I'll start with the good news first - I am very pleased and honoured to announce that I have a painting accepted into theThe Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour RSW 146th Open Annual Exhibition at the Scottish Academy, The Mound, Edinburgh and will be on 5th to the 30th of December 2026. This is such a lovely show and such a great setting right near Waverly train station in the centre of the city a place where there are many attactions including the National Gallery, the old part of Edinburgh and not to forget the castle! So if you around the area at the time of the exhibition its well worth a visit. The Paintings title - 'Arid Land' and is 28cm x 12cm mixed media on paper.
In other news I have started using my studio very slowly, I don't know about you but it takes a while as a creative to inhabit a space where you feel relaxed and ready to work for me it's not an instant thing, slowly feeling you have everything that you need and its arrangement of things work for you but I have loved thinking and working out what I want and need it there to make it feel right.
On another point that has slowed me down this year is a year of health issues which doggedly persist, so I am getting used to a slower pace of doing things and not beating myself up about keeping producing work. Whatever I do comes from a place in my heart and that is all that matters and who puts a timescale on anything that is creative? Not me and not anyone I know. I'm looking forward to adding more useful items to my garden studio in the coming months, I am looking at a studio easel has anyone any recommendations?
Below is a few photo's of work in progress in my little studio and look forward to sharing more with you in the near future.
